Jessy Pucker, LMSW

Clinician

Jessy was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  For her undergraduate degree, she didn’t go far; she has a Bachelor’s of Arts in English from Northwestern University.  After college, she moved to New York City to attend Columbia University School of Social Work.  She graduated with her MSW in April 2021.

Jessy has previously worked in both non-clinical and clinical settings.  Her experience ranges from resource management, to one-on-one sessions, to group therapy.  She worked in family services at a HeadStart program, where she coordinated and moderated family sessions, ran a weekly parent group, and developed action plans with parents to create positive home and educational experiences for their children.  Most recently, she worked in an outpatient clinic, seeing clients who were dealing with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, relationship problems, and challenging life transitions.  She also ran a weekly group for new and expectant mothers.

Jessy’s therapeutic style is based in a strong connection between therapist and client.  She believes that trust is at the core of any positive therapeutic relationship.  She has experience working with modalities like psychodynamic therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.  She is passionate about working with young people who are struggling with transitions, anxiety, and depression.

Jessy is a strong advocate for women’s reproductive rights and enjoys volunteering for that cause in any way she can.  Her self-care routine involves reading and napping.  She loves the outdoors and will take any excuse she can to go hiking.  She loves living in New York because she can step outside of her door and immediately be surrounded by people and energy.
